Rebus

Do you know what a rebus is? You might not know it by name but I’m certain you’ve come across them before. According to wikipedia, “A rebus is an allusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words” and even full phrases. The use of rebus dates back to the middle ages, when it was used to as a useful visual medium to denote sir names.  Here’s a historical example from about 1865 C.E.:

This particular rebus’ meaning is as follows: “May I see you home my deer?”
